Sharing a Smile, Sharing Hope: The Story Behind my Rainbow Comfort Cloths

Born from Love: The Story Behind my Rainbow Comfort Cloths
.
These vibrant cloths weren't always meant for everyone – they started on a very personal journey.
Back in October 2020, when my Mum embarked on her chemotherapy journey, one of the things that bothered her most was the discomfort of the recliner chairs. The heat and sweat made it hard for her to find a moment of peace during her sessions.
One day, Mum asked if I could tie dye a small piece of fabric for her head, something soft and cool to rest on.
That simple request sparked a beautiful tradition, and that's how the Rainbow Comfort Cloths were born.
.
Rainbows were a deliberate choice. Beyond their vibrant beauty, they symbolize hope and joy – things we desperately held onto during Mum's treatment.
.
A Tradition of Shared Comfort
Every three weeks, during Mum's chemo sessions, I'd dye a new, vibrant Rainbow Comfort Cloth for her.
But the story doesn't end there.
After each session, Mum would do something special.
She'd surprise another patient with the gift of the colourful cloth, a small token of comfort and a reminder of hope.

The smiles ... the genuine joy ... and the sparkle in everyone's eyes – Mum, the nurses, the other patients – as these cloths were passed on were some of the most heart warming moments we shared.
.
Mum's Legacy of Light
Though we were dealt a heart breaking blow with Mum's passing in July 2021, her spirit of giving and compassion lives on through these Comfort Cloths. They represent the power of small gestures to spread love, comfort, and a touch of sunshine during difficult times.
.
Hold Onto Hope, Share the Rainbow
With each Comfort Cloth, you have a choice. You can keep it for yourself, a comforting reminder of Mum's spirit.
Or, you can carry on her tradition of gifting, sharing the vibrant colours and a touch of hope with someone else who might need it.

What a very kind thing for your beautiful mum to do for other patients Corinne. I’m sure they all loved the rainbow comfort cloths. The gorgeous colours would no doubt have cheered the. Up while going through their treatments.
